Nigerian singer Simi recently expressed her disappointment at fans who keep asking her to change her music style. This came after the release of her latest single,
“All I Want,” which some fans described as repetitive, with a call for her to switch things up.
Simi took to social media to make it clear that she had no intention of changing her sound and that those who don’t enjoy her music should simply listen to someone else.
She also pointed out that her last ten singles have all been different, and that criticism of her music being repetitive is unfounded.
Additionally, Simi commented on the constant praise she receives as a featured artist, while her solo efforts are often underappreciated and criticized.
She reminded listeners that Grammy-winning British singer Adele has been singing ballads for over a decade without anyone asking her to switch it up, and that she too should be left alone to create music that she loves.
