Ghanaian entertainment analyst and CEO of Speech Production, Enock Agyepong has attributed the recent controversial statements made by Sally Mann to the influence of Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey, as well as Multimedia Group.
During an interview on Ahotor mmre with Obaapa Janee, he contended that the current environment shaped by certain key figures in the entertainment industry fosters a culture of reckless comments and unchecked opinions.
He posited that, if Okraku Mantey who was a direct investor in this industry and now a government official could sit on Hitz Fm owed by multimedia and state that he and his multimedia team met and decided to promote Stonebwoy at the expense of Shatta then why should we be surprised when Sally Mann a pundit turned Presenter also stands on Adom Tv owed by Multimedia and repeats same that they met to promote Stonebwoy and relegate Shatta?
“Sally Mann’s reckless comments didn’t emerge in isolation She derived her energy from Okraku Mantey’s statement,” he added.
Enock Agyepong added that such statements only drive investors away since they paint a picture of an insecure and hostile industry and therefore Multimedia must Apologize to the industry and Brand Shatta Wale for this recklessness else they’ll only be seen as brand destroyers.
Sally Mann’s remarks, which have stirred considerable debate, have led to mixed reactions within the creative arts community.
Critics label her comments as harsh and unprofessional.
