Ghana head coach Otto Addo has in a pre-match interview responded to criticisms leveled against him after failing to qualify Ghana to the AFCON next year.
Following a string of uninspiring performances and results from the Black Stars in recent past few games, fans have got to question Otto Addo’s mentality and style of play.
“Support us if you want us to qualify for the 2026 World Cup”– Black Stars Coach, Otto Addo said in a press conference.
The former Dortmund scouting coach who led Ghana to the 2022 World Cup in his first stint with the Black Stars has supervised five rounds of matches without a single win against group competitors Angola, Sudan and Niger.
The results have led to the four-time African Cup of Nations champions missing out on the continent’s next year football exhibition in Morocco.
Ghana will face Niger on Monday, November 18, 2024, in the final round of matches of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
Nonetheless, Ghana has a brighter chance of booking a slot in the World Cup in 2026 having amassed 9 points in 3 out of 4 games in the qualifiers.
The underfire coach believes Ghanaians should clean off the dust from the AFCON fiasco and throw their weights behind him as he seeks to qualify the nation for its fifth World Cup appearance in 2026.
