Nations FC Head Coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey is very optimistic about the chances of his team competing for the 2024/2025 Ghana premier league trophy following their 2-0 win over Asamte Kotoko at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on match week 11.
Nations FC capitalized on two errors by Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara as they run riot over the home side. The Guinean proved to be Kotoko’s achiles heel all afternoon. Sulemana Nafiu and Premier league top scorer found net for the away side.
Speaking during post match, Kassim Mingles welcomed the possibility of winning the league trophy.
“I am very satisfied, winning local derby’s makes you happy. We are also aiming at the utltimate because all the teams are looking at it. When the opportunity comes for us we will grab it”
On being the away team in the league Coach Kassim Mingles attributed it to the hard work, discipline and determination of his boys
The win moves Nations FC to the summit of the league table with 22 points. They have won their last four games without conceding a goal. For Asante Kotoko they have dropped to the 8th position on the table .
