Electoral Commission Criticizes NDC’s Plan to Use Drones for Election Monitoring
Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, Director of Electoral Services at the Electoral Commission, has opposed the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s proposal to use drones for monitoring the 2024 general elections. Quaicoe argues that deploying drones at polling stations contradicts the crucial principle of secrecy in electoral processes.
However, Samuel Okudzato Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu in the Volta region, disagrees with the Electoral Commission, asserting that using drones on election day aligns with the principle of secrecy.
During an interview on Adekyea mu nsem on Ahotor 92.3fm with Citizen Kofi Owusu, Okudzato, emphasized that the use of drones has become commonplace in everyday life.
