Ghanaian High-life legend Kwabena Kwakye Kabobo, famously known as K.K. Kabobo, has passed away. He succumbed to liver disease on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, another highlife musician, confirmed this sad news during Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem.
It was reported that K.K. Kabobo passed away upon arrival at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) while being rushed there for treatment.
This announcement follows closely after the veteran musician publicly disclosed his illness just two weeks prior.
A Facebook post, representing the singer, revealed his months-long battle with illness and the family’s struggle to afford his medical expenses.
Former President John Mahama, Samira Bawumia, Wendy Shay, and the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) publicly contributed towards funding K.K. Kabobo’s medical bills upon hearing the news. K.K. Kabobo is survived by 16 children.
