Private legal Practitioner Nana Ntow Amirekyi has fired the West African body called Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) saying they only exist on paper, however in practice, it is a confused body.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Ahotoronline.com, he indicated that if the countries that constitute the ECOWAS body is united, then one must not suffer traveling to another country.
According to him, “On what basis is ECOWAS going to attack Niger since all the countries are struggling financially to revive from post Covid-19”.
He said governments in Africa are crying for money therefore, what money is the bloc going to use to fight Niger.
He indicated that the bloc lacks integrity after the election of Nigerian President Ahmed Tinubu as Chairman while his election in Nigeria is still being challenged in the apex court of the land.
He again called on the ECOWAS to crosscheck what transpired in the coup in Niger and solve it than declare war on African soil.
The Military Chiefs of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are scheduled to convene a meeting in Accra, Ghana, on Thursday and Friday to address the crisis in Niger.
This move comes after the Authority of Heads of State and Governments of ECOWAS decided during a meeting in Abuja, Nigeria, on August 10, 2023, to deploy a standby force to Niger.
