The Leader of the International Power Transfer Ministry located in Tema Spintex Road behind the Garage, Prophet Gadu Dieu Donne, is of the view that the current impasse in Niger, regarding the coup was amongst a litany of prophecies he made in December 2022 during the 31st Watch Night Service held to usher in the New Year at the Church’s Auditorium.
The acclaimed Man of God who briefed the press on Tuesday 15th August 2023, said happenings emerging from Niger do not surprise him, owing to the fact that the ongoing political upheaval in Niger was long predicted and was bound to happen.
Prophet Donne stated that he is rather alarmed by the level of needless bravado being exhibited by the likes of the Economic Community For West Africa State ( ECOWAS) in an attempt to restore Niger to civilian governance.
Niger had the much talked about coup on 26th July 2023, where the incumbent President Mohammed Bazoum and their family have been taken hostage by a military junta.
The Military Junta that staged the Coup threatened to charge the deposed President with Treason including related human rights abuses amidst the killing of Innocent citizens.
ECOWAS had earlier said they were considering military intervention in Niger to neutralize the insurgency but the junta has called their bluff.
The move has since been met with stiff resistance from some neighboring countries who share boundaries with Niger.
Security Chiefs in ECOWAS have postponed a scheduled meeting in Ghana over the turmoil till a later date.
These wider consultations and high-powered Meetings by various heads of state form part of pragmatic as well as planned roadmaps aimed at bringing a feeling of lasting peace to Niger and reverting the country to democratic rule.
The leader and founder of International Power Transfer has appealed to President Akufo Addo and ECOWAS leaders to tread cautiously as the Regional Bloc makes strides to get the feuding factions to smoke a peace pipe.
