The Stadium Was So Loud That It Had Negative Impact On Us – Joseph Paul Amoah Laments
The captain for team Ghana 4x100m relay team , Joseph Paul Amoah has attributed their failure to qualify for the 4x100m relay finals at the ongoing Olympic game to overwhelming noise level at the stadium.
Speaking after the team failed to qualify to the finals due to improper change-over of baton, he expressed that the deafening noise inside the stadium adversely affected the team’s performance, making it difficult for the athletes to focus and execute their race strategy effectively .
He explained that the crowd’s intense energy, while meant to be supportive, ended up becoming a distraction which made them to struggled to hear each other and maintain proper communication during the crucial handoff phases of the relay but he is very optimist that going forward , they will correct their mistakes especially passing of baton.
Team Ghana represented the nations at the Olympic games in Paris but failed to win a single medals . Team Ghana was disqualified from the Men’s 4x100m relay event at the 2024 Olympics games after a late baton changeover from the third to final person.
