Tension is escalating in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency in the Eastern region, triggered by the defacement of posters belonging to Hayford Siaw, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary aspirant.
Hayford Siaw, the CEO of the Ghana Library Authority, is vying to unseat the current Member of Parliament for the area, Frank Annoh-Dompreh.
In preparation for the party’s January 27 primaries, Mr Siaw’s publicity team strategically placed posters across various neighborhoods.
However, overnight, unknown individuals have been removing these posters, prompting supporters to confront the culprits.
A video has emerged, allegedly showing a man from the incumbent MP’s camp physically assaulting a member of Siaw’s team who questioned him about the poster defacement.
Bystanders intervened to prevent further escalation as tensions between the two camps continued to rise.
Our sources report that Mr Siaw’s supporters condemn these acts as cowardly and are urging the police to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Despite attempts, contacting the incumbent Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri has proven unsuccessful.
