Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association Henry Asante Twum has expressed that his outfit bears the cost of night matches played in the Betpawa Premier League.
In an interview , he explained that the FA spends over Gh6,000 to Gh8000 per night because the stadiums are no longer on the national grid and therefore not funded by the government.
“The GFA absorbs all the expenses of night football and it costs us between Gh 6000 to Gh8,000 per game because we don’t depend on the National Grid so we use generators and besides the clubs can not bear it looking at the current situations ” .
This is on the back of the disconnection by the Electricity Company of Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium for owing a debt to the tune of GH¢508,000.
The Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium is temporarily closed.
