The Member of Parliament for the Tema East Constituency Isaac Ashai Odamtten has described the President’s State of The Nation Address as an empty address to the state.
According to the Tema East Legislator, the President didn’t present the true state of the nation but rather managing the narratives during the 2023 State of the Nation Address on Wednesday, March 8.
“The President’s message yesterday showed that the current government is up to managing the narratives, is not about the actual situation on the grounds” he told Citizen Kofi Owusu on Ahotor 92.3 Fm’s morning show.
President Akufo-Addo delivered his State of the Nation Address Wednesday, March 8 on the floor of parliament where he addressed chiefly the economic challenges that have afflicted the country post-Covid-19.
However, Hon. Odamtten said the President has lost touch with the reality and he is just managing the narrative.
He said the President’s presentation on the state of the economy; government’s debt problem and the Covid-19 expenditure is a misrepresentation of the true facts on the ground.
Hon. Ashai said the address overlooked the widespread despair and disenchantment among Ghanaians who were going through unbearable hardships.
