Qatar 2022 World Cup : Ghana beat Zimbabwe to revive qualification hope


The Black Stars returned to winning ways with a convincing win against Zimbabwe at the Cape Coast stadium.

Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey and captain Dede Ayew were all on target for the Black Stars as Ghana won 3-1 to keep the pressure on South Africa 

The Black Stars wasted no time in establishing their intention after returning Ajax star Mohammed Kudus slotted home following a beautiful play with Jordan Ayew.

Washington Arubi had difficulties stopping the 21-year-old Ajax man from causing havoc to the Warriors of Zimbabwe as they went down by a one-nil in the first half.

Zimbabwe captain Knowledge Musona leveled the score to make it 1-1 after he elected himself to effect a penalty awarded to his side after Alexander Djiku fouled a player in the box, he placed it nicely past Jojo Wollacott in post for Ghana.

Two more goals from Thomas Partey and Andre Ayew in the second half was enough for the Black Stars to emerge triumphant with the return game in Harare to be played in three days.
