Spanish football giant, FC Barcelona have taken a swipe at English supporters over numerous racist comments and racial abuse against the 3 black English players who missed their penalties during the just ended Euro final match against Italy at Wembley.
FC Barcelona on its official Facebook page wrote
” Loosing a penalty shootout is a part of football, and a part of life. Racism is not ”
and attached a picture of the English players during the shootout.
Marcus Ransford, Manchester United forward, Jadon Sancho, a newly acquired Manchester United player from Dortmound and Bukayo Saka, a 19 year old boy who plays for Arsenal football club were the 3 black players in the England team who missed their penalties.
Many English supporters have since taken to various social media expressing angst and frustrations over the turn of events on sunday night, generating a storm of racial abuse and racist comments against the black players who missed their penalties.
Reports are that the mural of Marcus Rasford has been defaced by angry supporters of England prompting a police investigation into the matter
Social media giants like Instagram and Facebook have threatened delete or ban individuals or persons who write or post abusive or racial comments on their page.
