Ghana Statistical Service in a period of every ten (10) years conducts Population and Housing Census across the country to assist government with the needed data and plan for development.
Ghana Statistical Service launched the exercise in 2020, but was however suspended due to the covid-19 outbreak.
In the Pru East District of Bono East Region, the 30 days count down has been launched.
The District Officer of PHC, Prince Awini, gave a brief history about PHC explaining why government conducts the exercise and the need to get counted.
He said the district Statistical Service has recruited some temporal staff who will carry on the exercise and are currently under training.
He disclosed the digitalization of this year’s exercise hence adequate training of the personnel is underway.
Individual information, he said, is very confidential and called all to trust the process.
He advised against the relocation of residents to other areas for the purposes of the census.
