The former Eastern Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bismark Tawiah Boateng, has called on the people of Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency to vote decisively for change in the upcoming general elections.
Addressing constituents during a victory walk organized by the NDC, Wofa Tawiah Boateng expressed disappointment in the performance of successive New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament in the constituency, including the incumbent, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah. He accused them of failing to bring significant development to the area, despite their years in office.
He reminded the people of Ofoase-Ayirebi of the contributions made by the NDC during its time in government, including appointing a representative from the constituency to serve on the Council of State. “Most of the developmental projects in this constituency were initiated by the NDC, not the NPP,” he emphasized.
Wofa Tawiah Boateng urged the constituents to give the NDC parliamentary candidate, Hon. Rev. Alfred Osei Poku (King Jajah), the opportunity to serve and demonstrate what he can accomplish within a four-year term. He argued that it was time for Ofoase-Ayirebi to experience new leadership that prioritizes the needs of the people.
He further highlighted the comprehensive policies and plans of the NDC and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, to address the challenges faced by Ghanaians. Boateng stressed that achieving these goals requires a strong NDC majority in Parliament, making it crucial for constituents to vote for both the party’s parliamentary candidate and its presidential candidate.
“It is time for change. Let’s give King Jajah and the NDC the chance to lead. Together, we can transform Ofoase-Ayirebi and Ghana as a whole,” he passionately appealed.
The victory walks, which drew a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, marked a renewed call for accountability and progress in the constituency, setting the tone for a spirited campaign ahead of the December 7 elections.
