John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Ghanaians to remain hopeful, emphasizing that God still has a plan for the country despite the current challenges.
He reassured the public that the NDC is committed to reversing the damage caused by the ruling NPP government.
Speaking during a community engagement in Asamankese, part of his Eastern Regional tour, Mr. Mahama urged Ghanaians not to lose faith.
He emphasized that the NDC has the right people—both men and women—ready to bring about change and improve the country’s situation.
“The December 7th elections present an opportunity for us to change the direction of our nation,” John Mahama stated. “This is a chance we must not waste.”
He promised that the next NDC government would support struggling businesses, many of which are on the brink of collapse due to excessive taxes.
He vowed to create an environment that would help businesses thrive, thereby opening more job opportunities for the youth.
“Businesses are failing because of high taxes, and those that are still operating aren’t making profits. The next NDC administration will work to revive the private sector and create jobs for our youth,” he said.
John Mahama also proposed engaging with traditional leaders to facilitate the allocation of land for industrial development, helping to stimulate the economy and create jobs.
“We will work with chiefs to make land available for anyone who wants to build factories,” he assured.
In his closing remarks, John Mahama urged Ghanaians not to vote for the NPP again, asserting that they have nothing more to offer the country.
“The elephant must return to the bush. We cannot repeat the mistake that brought it home. Let’s vote them out and bring in a new NDC administration to reset the country,” he concluded.
