John Mahama Promises Metropolitan Status for Koforidua and Modern Market Revamp in NDC Administration

NDC Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama has pledged that an NDC-led government will elevate Koforidua from municipal to metropolitan status to accelerate development in the area.

During his Eastern Regional tour stop in Koforidua, John Mahama highlighted this upgrade as a key step towards expanding infrastructure and improving public services.

He noted that this transition was planned in 2016 but claimed the NPP government neglected it over the past eight years.

He also promised a major overhaul of the Koforidua market, transforming it into a modern trading hub if the NDC wins the upcoming election.

Urging Ghanaians to support the NDC, he argued that a vote for the NPP and Dr. Bawumia would endorse ongoing economic hardships, while the NDC is committed to fixing these challenges.

Additionally, John Mahama alleged that the NPP’s endorsement of Dr. Bawumia is a strategy to avoid accountability for the administration’s financial mismanagement and corruption.

He assured voters that the NDC is ready to restore transparency and rebuild trust in government leadership.
