The Elections Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress has warned the electoral commission to jettison its decision to close polls by 3pm as announced by the EC.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, in response to a number of electoral reforms announced by the EC few days ago, Mr. Afriyie Ankra has challenged the EC to drop a consideration that views the entire nation as just Accra, stressing the need to consider the rural folks and the impediments such decision will put on them in the exercise of the electoral rights as conferred on them by the 1992 constitution.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the current arrangement of closing polls at 5pm has proven successful in the last 7 elections we have had and requires no fix, if it ain’t broken, you don’t fix it , that’s her own hers ”
