The Paramount of the Nsien Traditional Area in the Nzema East Municipality, Awulae Agyefi Kwame II has refuted speculation in some circles that he has apologized to the Western Regional Minister, Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah.
On Monday, May 12, 2020, the leadership of the Regional House of Chiefs met the two Ministers – Energy Minister, Chieftaincy Minister including the Western Regional Minister where Awulae Agyanfi Kwame openly prayed the Western Regional Minister to regularly engage the chiefs to enhance development whiles spearheading the amicable settlement of who represents the House in the National House of Chiefs
He added that after the official closure of the meeting, the Regional Minister then invited him (Awulae Agyefi Kwame II) for a further discussion on the issues raised and other matters of concern.
The Paramount Chief said: “My meeting with Him was based on my contribution during the visit to the house of chiefs by the Energy Minister and Chieftaincy Minister and including Kobby himself… I was worried that he has not visited the house to find out about our elections issues, how we can solve for the house to have a representative in the National house of Chiefs and other debilitating development worries…that is all, I did not go to his (Western Regional Minister) house to Apologize”.
The Chief muttered; “I am surprise at this fabrication and lies running around in the media and in some circles..But am sorry for them, they got it wrong this time …. I can’t be moved into their dirty politics… I am too old for this”.
The Paramount Chief said due to the delay in electing a representative, there are no chiefs on many state institutions in the Region notably the Peace Council, Prisons, Fire Service making the Regional Consultative Council a baby of the Minister… “it’s been more than five months without chiefs on the Council…is Kobby saying he can rule alone?”
The Paramount Chief urged the Western Regional Minister to do well in fixing the Western Region rather than “Skewing” private chats with Him to undermine His Personality and the chieftaincy institutions as a whole.
