2-day registration of students is a violation of the law- Otukonor

Various personalities have criticized the rationale for the 2-day voter registration exercise for the final Senior High School (SHS) students who have gone back to school to prepare for their final examination.

The Electoral Commission has set up polling centres in the various SHS premises for the purposes of registering them.

The EC explains that, it was a response to a request by the Ghana Education.

The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Peter Boamah Otokunor in an interview explains the illegality of the exercise, since it violate the EC laws.

He explains that, the centres have not been ghazetted and by law, the EC cannot validate the data from those centres.
