Lawyer Maurice Ampaw the Lawyer for Afia Schwarzenegger’s husband Mr. Lawrence Abrokwah has stated that his client has not been treated well and is asking Ghanaians to rather applaud him for what he did.
He stated that, there is no proof that his client leaked the video which has become viral and there is nothing that shows that he assaulted his wife physically.
Maurice Ampaw further stated that but for his client’s patience and tolerance, something worse could have happened when he bombed to the scene.
“He was extremely provoked and this will not be tolerated by any man. I know most men will kill or cause serious injuries should they go through this ordeal”
“Afia Schwarzenegger and that man should thank God that they are alive. That is why some of us are not happy about the way the police is taking the matter, why should you take the man to court, a man who is going through emotional pains” He stated.
According to him, Mr. Abrokwah and Afia Schwarzenegger needs counseling and an amicable resolution, not a court battle.
“The police have to go to court and prove beyond reasonable doubt that it is the husband that leaked the video to the public” He stated.
He also stated that according to the laws of the country, there is no court that can dissolve a marriage that has not been contracted for more than two years.
“As we speak now Afia and Abrokwah are still married and until dissolved by a court, it will stay as such”
“Legally Afia Schwarzenegger is still a wife to Mr. Abrokwah.
Maurice Ampaw was speaking in a telephone interview on Ahotor FM’s mid morning show, Ahotor Mmre with Yaw Nkrumah (Adwumawura) on Friday, 8th September, 2017.
He concluded by stating that Afia Schwarzenegger has no case against his husband who did not harm her, but took video evidence.
It can be recalled that the actress was caught in bed with another man barely nine months into her marriage.
In the video, Afia Schwarzenegger is seen wearing a headscarf and clad in a white towel trying to shield her private parts from the preying lenses of the camera.
Reacting to the rumours, the comedienne, born Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa (Afia Schwarzenegger) confirmed that she is no longer with Mr Abrokwah.
Afia Schwarzenegger and Mr Abrokwah got married at a private ceremony on Saturday, October 22, 2016, inside a church at Florida Lake in Johannesburg in South Africa.
