Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown has openly expressed her views on abortion, declaring that she would not permit her daughter to terminate a pregnancy under any circumstances. Known for her impressive performances, Nana McBrown is also an advocate for women’s rights and reproductive health.
In a recent interview, she discussed her firm belief that if her daughter were to face a teenage pregnancy, she would support her in carrying the pregnancy to term. “I will not allow my daughter to have an abortion,” Nana McBrown stated decisively. “I am here to support her every step of the way. If she becomes pregnant at 16, she will have the baby when she’s 17.”
While she emphasized that this is a hypothetical situation—given her daughter’s young age—Nana McBrown is committed to being there for her daughter in any challenges she may encounter in the future.
She also detailed her approach to managing an unexpected pregnancy, stating, “I would want to meet the young man involved and his family. I would notify them to ensure they don’t pressure their son if his relationship with my daughter results in an unforeseen pregnancy.”
Nana McBrown highlighted her readiness to shoulder the responsibility of supporting her daughter through this journey. “She is my only priceless asset, and I won’t let anyone jeopardize that,” she expressed.
Her stance has ignited discussions around reproductive health and the significance of providing support to women during unplanned pregnancies.
