In accordance with the legislative instrument mandating the president to deliver the State of the Nation address, Ghanaians plan to articulate their own perspective through their lifestyles and the economic challenges they currently face. It is anticipated that the president will address the reality of the facts and the economic hardships experienced by the citizens.
Hon. Ben Doe, a member of the National Democratic Congress National Communication Team, expressed these sentiments on the Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor FM, hosted by Alex Nana Dogbey in Accra.
Doe asserts that despite numerous political campaign promises made by the president and his team since 2016, there has been a lack of tangible investments that have positively impacted the lives of Ghanaians. He emphasizes the need for the president to address the truth in his State of the Nation address.
Highlighting the concerning debt situation and negative economic indicators leading to high inflationary prices of goods and services, Doe argues that the government has placed a significant burden on the citizens.
On the same platform, a communication team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) acknowledges the challenges faced by the country but insists that the president has made noteworthy contributions to national development despite economic hurdles. He urges caution against former president John Dramani and his 24-hour economy proposal, emphasizing that it may not be suitable for the Ghanaian economy.
In a separate discussion, Ben Doe of the NDC communication team criticizes the NPP for adopting confusing policies and resorting to social media with misleading information and false statements. He believes that Ghanaians are now more discerning and aware of the tactics and propaganda employed by the NPP.
