Member of parliament for North Tongu constituency in the Volta region, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is reminding President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo that, he promised Ghanaians and the Almighty God of commissioning the National Cathedral on 6 March, 2024.
He said we are in 2024 and we have few weeks away to March 6 but the project still remains abandoned and it was bound to face all of this horrible outcome because of the massive diversion that took place.
According to Hon Ablakwa, the government first of all told Ghanaians that, tax payers fund will not be used but they failed and used close to GHC 339 million of our taxes.
“They said that this will be a private initiative led by the churches and the President’s personal donations only for a discovery to be made by me” he said.
He mentioned some names of whom he claims they took away some huge amount from the coffers of the funds that were meant for the project.
He applauded the clergy men who resigned from the cathedral board and said its good they saw the light earlier.
