Noth Tongu legislature Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has said it is possible parliament may pass the LGBTQ+ bill into law by Friday of this week which happens to be February 16.
According to him, a lot of the work has been done on the bill and its really possible that by Friday, they can pass it.
Speaking on the development so far on the bill, the MP said he is surprised that till now, the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has not said anything about this important bill.
According to him, this is somebody who has been caught on camera claiming to be an Islamic cleric and giant and he is coming for Muslims but yet nothing has been heard from him concerning this important bill.
‘I think its disappointing for him not to utter a word about it” he said.
On the side of the Minority leader
The Minority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has revealed that the controversial Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, is expected to be passed by Friday, February 16.
The bill aims to bar lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) activities in the country.
Speaking on JoyNews’ PM Express, Dr Forson stated that the bill has undergone thorough consideration, and is currently being perused to ensure that all proposed amendments approved by Parliament have been appropriately captured.
