Kan-Dapaah dares not touch Delta Force – Ken Agyapong

Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has cautioned National Security Minister Albert Kan-Dapaah to desist from orchestrating any arrests or prosecution of any member of the Delta Force vigilante group.

“Anyone should dare and put any of the Delta Force guys on trial, I would personally lead demonstrations against the NPP and Kan-Dapaah. …Nana Addo didn’t win easily, we fought and these boys were at the war front when they were fighting…,” he said.

He was commenting on the attack carried out by members of the pro-New Patriotic Party vigilante group on the Regional Security Coordinator of Ashanti.

The heavily built men, led by one Kwadwo Bamba, 37, on Friday, March 24, stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and violently removed from office Mr George Agyei, the newly appointed regional security coordinator, on grounds that they would not be able to work with him as he was not a native of the region. The group said Mr Agyei did not partake in the campaign for the 2016 poll that brought the NPP to power.

But Mr Agyapong has supported the actions of the vigilante group saying they “put their lives on the line and defended the NPP when the Police and the government were against us’.

“I would have clapped for them and urged them to slap the man…when I was charged with treason, who came to intervene, it was Ursula who was slapped at Odododiodio…where was Kan-Dapaah, we win power and they all join the bandwagon…,” he stated during an interview on Adom TV’s Badwam Thursday, March 30.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested nine more suspects in connection with the attack bringing the total number of arrests to 14 so far.
