The Dean of the Cape Coast University Business School, Prof John Gatsi says, nobody can manage the economy by focusing only on digitilisation and leaving the means that affect people significantly
Commenting on the digitilisation spree of the vice president, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia this morning March 29 on Adekye Mu Nsem, Prof Gatsi explained that, digitilisation is part of economic management and therefore in the midst of economic hardship, an economic manager should not only focus on digitilisation
“In the phase of rising debt, in the phase of rising food prices across board to the extent that we are now importing a lot of agricultural produce which could have been produced in the country and the vice president say that as for him, he is focusing on digitilisation and that is the best for him at this time?” he quizzed
He told the host, Citizen Kofi Owusu that, such posture from the head of the economic management team is a form of backsliding from economic management
He explained that, if there is any other reason for which the vice president is not coming out because the cedi has gone against what he touted, inflation and the debt level has gone against what he touted, digitilisation will not speak to those issues
Although, digitilisation is important, economic issues affecting the lives of people significantly must be a priority, he added
