OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM IS VERY POOR; WE NEED REFORMS – EDUCATIONIST

The Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, Hon Yaw Osei Adutwum earlier told Ghanaians they should appreciate and accept the ‘Agyenkwa’ budget because it is one of the few budgets in the 4th republic which will promote education in Ghana.

But Mr. Norbert Gbogbotse, an educationist said he expected the education minister to know better and improve Ghana’s education sector because of his exposure into the foreign education system

According to him, our education must generate resources because education is about livelihood.

“Students learn most of the things in school, what they learn should be more practical-based to benefit the learner and the country” he said

He made this known this afternoon on Simpieso, the hottest and award-winning political show with Emmanuel Martey, Alaska De Don on Ahotor 92.3FM

He further explained that, we as learners should be part of the production

“China was as poor as Ghana in the 90s, they never went for loan or money from elsewhere to pump into their education sector, they focused on what will be profitable and beneficial to them and the result is clear now. There should be serious reforms in our education sector”

This was in response to what the Finance minister Ken Ofori Atta said about most Ghanaians having zero skills, reason they are unemployed
