The Coalition against leadership of organised labour and trade union congress has spoken against the four and seven percent increment of the salary of government workers for 2021 and 2022 respectively.
Speaking in an interview on Ahotor Fm’s political show, Simpieso, Mr. Azubila Emmanuel Salam who is the Executive Secretary of Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Ghana (ADAM GH) and doubles as the executive secretary for Coalition against leadership of organised labour and TUC said
‘Even though we are not in 2022 yet, their leaders in collaboration with the government have decided to increase the salary of public sector workers by seven percent and four percent for 2021”.
He added that no one knows the cost of transportation and fuel in 2022, yet, their leaders and government have decided to only give them a seven percent increment.
” We are not yet in 2022 and we can’t tell how much fuel and transportation increment will come but the Government has decided to increase our salaries by seven percent, he said.
Mr. Azubila added that, the leaders of T.UC including Dr Anthony Baah and Bampo Addo have gone into an agreement with the government never to embark on a strike even when they are suffering.
He concluded that members of the coalition will stop contributing to their unions if nothing is done about it.
