For the Past two weeks, the Western Region, specifically Takoradi, has been in the news for the alleged kidnapping of a 28-years old pregnant woman who is a resident of Takoradi.
On Thursday, September 16 2021, when the news broke of the alleged kidnapping of a 9 months pregnant woman, once again there was fear and panic.
The woman at the center of the controversy, Josephine Mensah went on her early morning routine around Paa Grant roundabout and never returned. She was later found at Axim without her baby or pregnancy.
Fast forward, there have been a lot of controversies with regards to her kidnap and pregnancy because the Police has come to say neither her pregnancy or Kidnapping was true.
The Ghana Police Service says it has received further results from the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi-Takoradi which corroborates its earlier report stating that the lady was never pregnant
The police added that per the records at the Takoradi Regional Hospital, the last time she visited the hospital was in October 2020, and she was without a pregnancy.
According to reports from Takoradi, the mother of the alleged pregnant woman Auntie Aggie, was detained in Police cells on Thursday, September 23 to assist investigators in the case and both are facing prosecution for wasting the nations resources.
