Social media users, especially Facebookers, are chastising the Ministry of Information for its decision to tell the story of the Rebecca Foundation, the nongovernmental organization of the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, questioning whether or not Ministry has become the mouthpiece of the First Lady’s charity organization.
The Ministry of Information has scheduled today, July 15, 2021, and July 16, 2021, to tell the progress made by the foundation so far.
However, the announcement sparked criticism on social media, with many describing the announcement as ill-timed and unnecessary.
The First Lady has been at the receiving end of criticism when it came to light that salaries had been approved to be paid to her.
Following the criticism, she rejected the salary offer and also refunded all allowances that had been paid to her since her husband became President
In the midst of these developments, the good works of the First Lady are being highlighted by supporters of hers, supposedly to say that she has been hard at work for the country.
Notwithstanding, the decision of the Ministry of Information to talk about her foundation has been heavily criticised.
