Following the death of a four year old boy who was run over and killed on the Ablekuma-Awoshie highway on Monday, angry residents of Awoshie Mangoase are demanding the repair of all traffic lights on the highway.
According to them, not less than two people are knocked down on the road within three days every week.
Protesting the demise of some of their colleagues as a result of faulty traffic lights in the area,the irate youth massed up at the Mangoase Traffic lights, blocked the road to express their concerns.
Member of Parliarment for Abkekuma North, Hon. Nana Akua Owusu Afreyie had to be escorted by security personnel into her car after her attention was drawn to the ongoing protest by residents to help monitor the situation.
The demonstrators who would have none of that from her, met her with complaints amidst chants of “SHAME” and “YOU HAVE FAILED US”.
Youth of Ablekuma-Awoshie,wielding placards were angry at authorities whom they claim have turned deaf ears and blind eyes to their calls for traffic lights in the area and therefore demanding for them to be fixed now
