On his appearance on AHOTOR FM (92.3) “Thursday Class” session on the breakfast show, the National Chairman For the NDC, Dr.Samuel Ofosu Ampofo told host Citizen Kofi Owusu that, he will never grant interview on ASAASE RADIO.
Asaase Radio has emerge on the commercial private operational radio stations in Accra few months Now.
The sophisticated media empire, which is purportedly owned by a daughter of President Akufo Addo, is currently transmitting on a frequency modulation of 99.5 megahertz, and allegedly operating on 10K.
The luxurious state of Asaase Radio is a sight to behold and comparable to media outfits abroad with extreme succinct in state of the art facility.
Their ultramodern offices and studio have caught attention by the general public, especially patrons on social media who have been alarmed by the exquisite nature of the facility, amid varied talking points and speculations about the founding owners.
It is being alleged that a former broadcaster and ace senior journalist Mr. Kweku Sekyi Addo, is among notable and house names within the media circus who have been poached by managers of the station to steer the affairs of the emerging media giant.
The commencement of test transmission by the station and seemingly involvement of staunch members at the National Communications Authority (NCA) has become a subject on the lips of many including social commentators, who alludes that the situation where emissaries of NCA are portraying as right wing managers of Asaase Radio smacks of Conflict of Interest which could suffer legal ramifications if care is not taken.
The National Chairman of the NDC during a panel discussion with the former Ghana Ambassador to India, H.E Sam Pee Yalley noted that, a caveat has been issued to all NDC communicators and public speakers not to honor invitations to partake in the activities of the station.
He said the government of President Akufo Addo, as well as apparatchiks in the NPP cannot hid behind neutrality and balancing act, to bait the NDC to join in any of their programme in the event the said Asaase Radio starts full programming and operation.
“I have decided not to grant interviews on that station” he retorted !
” You cannot shut radio stations like Radio Gold and others but clandestinely hid behind this station to seek our attention ” He added !
“moreso, am told the station is really nice, very glamorous amid the display of affluence ” he stated !
HON. Samuel Ofosu emphasized on the need for government to restore the operations of pro NDC media wings instead of investing in self centered and parochial business entities in the country, which is aim at taken vengeance of political opponents.
