The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Sumana is calling for a public screening of confirmed cases of covid-19 to convince the society of the reality of the pandemic.
He argued that, lots of people are doubtful of the disease and hence, the public screening of those confirmed cases on the television would let people believe and adopt the safety protocols of prevention.
He said, the casting of those in the intensive care units and the burials of the covid-19 affected deaths would send the rightful message to the doubting Thomases.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament, the MP disclosed that a large chunk of the populace believe the covid-19 is a hoax, and are therefore not living by the preventive protocols, and such an attitude could cause a spike in the infection in communities.

However, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Psychology at the University of Ghana, Dr Wiafe Akenten says, such a step would create more stigma against the positively confirmed individuals and their families
He explains that, with the possible scourge of stigmatization, even the infected ones would refuse going for treatment for fear of victimization, and that would result in more community spread thereby making the fight against the covid-19 a daunting task.
