Residents of Abenabo in the Suhum Municipality in the Eastern Region, have reiterated the need for the government, MP for the area, Frederick Opare Ansah, and the MCE as a matter of urgency to speed up the construction the roads in of Abenabo to suppress dust and prevent them from becoming infected with air borne diseases.
Roads from Abenabo to Suhum and other towns for so many years have been dusty with inhabitants being unhappy.
Failure to spray the surface with water to temporarily bond with the particles to prevent them from been carried by the wind could have serious implications on their health.
Some of residents speaking to Ahotor fm news Reporter Eric Nyarko said, they produce cassava, maize ,plantain, cocoa, and many more to Accra, suhum, koforidua and other cities but the nature of the roads are having a devastative efct on them.
Adding that, due to poor state of their roads, their foodstuffs have been left in their farms.
Motor bikes, they said are the main means of transport and this makes it difficult to carry a sick peron, the pregnant and injured people to the hospital, thereby increasing the mortality rate in the area.
Some of the drivers from Abenabo to Suhum complained bitterly of their sufferings due to the deplorable state of the road network
