‘Father- for- all mentality’, the cause of NDC stay in Opposition – Hadji

An avowed leading member of the NDC, and resident at Dome Kwabenya Constituency of the Greater Accra region, Hon. Hadji Mustapha, says, one of the factors that sent the NDC to opposition in 2012 elections was the father- for- all syndrome of former President Mahama.

Hadji explains that, some of the Ex-President’s  henchmen dinned and wined with the then NPP in opposition, and also cushioned them in key strategic positions to the extent that, NPP members felt emboldened to enjoy from the National kitty , better than sympathizers, and foot-soldiers of the ruling party who were in power.

This attitude, Hadji sees as a stab in the back of the then President, wondering why one would strengthen his opponent with more ammunitions.

Mustapha Hadji was on Ahotor fm’s morning show dubbed ‘Adekye Mu Nsem’.

The fire brand Hadji also lambasted the mode of appropriation of the Getfund scholarships to some government appointees and surrogates of the Akufo Addo government who, according to the Auditor General’s  report,  benefited from the award scheme.

Mr. Mustaphah also took a swipe at his own party members who were beneficiaries of the Fund.

‘Personalities such as Education Minister,  Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, and MP for Dome Adjoa Sarfo cannot be classified as less privilege in society, to enjoy such a sponsorship package under the Getfund policy’, he added

He called for a refund of the said monies and posited that, government must come clean on the issue since it smacks of thievery and corruption which have once again been unearthed by a credible State institution as the Auditor General’s Department.

The Auditor General, Mr. Daniel Domelevo had stated that he is unfazed with criticisms by people he described as empty detractors, and vowed to do all it takes to hold public officers accountable.

The NDC financier and philanthropists however opines that the future NDC government  will make sure they position the youths in the party who toiled and sacrificed to bring the party into power  by way of due recognition and honor.
