UK-based Ghanaian gospel musician Sonnie Badu has stated in his tribute to Ebony that Ghanaians should have been a bit patient with the dancehall artiste. According to him the insults and false statements to the ‘Sponsor’ hit maker were unacceptable
Sonnie Badu cautioned critics of the dancehall singer few months ago, over her choice of clothes, to stop subjecting her to insults and rather show her love.
The renowned gospel singer, in a radio interview some months ago, urged Ghanaians to rather support the ‘Hustle’ singer because she was a great talent.
The Baba singer in a tribute to Ebony on his Facebook page stated that the talented dancehall singer (Ebony) lived a life wealthy of a young girl since she lived all her life without a mother. He praised her hard work to the top and prayed that she wins the female artist of the year at the upcoming VGMA.
Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng (born 16 February 1997; known by the stage name Ebony) is a Ghanaian dancehall/Afrobeats artist widely known for her hit songs “Poison” and “Kupe”, she was discovered by Bullet, a member of Ruff n Smooth fame.
Ebony was discovered by renowned musician and entrepreneur Bullet of Ruff n Smooth fame when she sent a recording of her voice and was signed to his Rufftown record label just a day after listening to the recording.
Ebony came out with her first single, “Dancefloor”, in December 2015 with a video and audio release.
The song became a hit on radio landing her nomination for the unsung category at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards.
In March 2016 Ebony released her major hit single “Kupe”, which is a household anthem in Ghana and some other African countries.
Ebony is signed to ruff town records and Midas touch Inc.

I am glad I showed you love In the smallest possible way from afar. I don’t know why you suddenly reached out to me 3 days ago and then we see your last post has you and Dr Lawrence Tetteh (was it your thank you and good bye?) What people don’t realize is you never had a mother raise you; you did well for a young lady who lived all her life with her father. You have done well! I still pray that you win the female artist of the year at the upcoming VGMA because you worked hard to the top. If only Ghanaians were a bit patient with you, but it’s too late … I am in tears as I write this, all I can say is may your gentle soul Rest In Peace … No one knows tomorrow.. big loss to Ghana music industry .
