Residents of Dekpor Horme, situated in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region, have voiced their urgent plea to authorities for attention to address the stark underdevelopment plaguing their town. This neglect has led to a significant exodus of youth seeking better opportunities elsewhere.
In an exclusive interview with the media, Michael Hiate, Chairman of the Dekpor Horme festival, highlighted various challenges confronting their community, particularly in terms of lacking essential social amenities. He emphasized the critical need for improved infrastructure, including access to electricity, educational facilities, and sanitation services such as proper toilet facilities.
Hiate further appealed to non-governmental organizations to extend their support to Dekpor Horme, recognizing the dire circumstances the community has endured over the years. This call for assistance comes at a time when a particular NGO has offered aid to the community in preparation for their upcoming festival.
