Club Aurora goalkeeper David Akologo has clinched his maiden call-up to the prestigious Black Stars squad, defying expectations after being invited to Bolivia’s national team.
David Akologo has long been recognized for his exceptional goalkeeping skills and unwavering determination on the field, despite facing challenges and setbacks along the way, he has persevered, honing his craft and proving himself as a standout player in the Ghanaian football scene.
David Akologo inclusion in the latest Black Stars squad highlights the selectors’ recognition of his talent and potential to make a meaningful contribution to the national team.
While the invitation to Bolivia’s national team may have initially raised eyebrows, it ultimately served as a stepping stone for Akologo to showcase his abilities on an international stage , his performance and dedication have evidently caught the attention of the Black Stars’ coaching staff, leading to his well-deserved call-up.
Akologo first joined Cochabamba FC in Bolivia in January 2020 after leaving Nigerian club Mighty Jets FC.
As Akologo prepares to don the Black Stars jersey for the first time, his journey serves as a reminder that perseverance and hard work can indeed lead to achieving one’s dreams.
David Akologo will be part of the Black Stars squad for the Super Eagles of Nigeria on 22nd and Uganda on 26th March 2024 at Marrakech.
