George Mireku Duker, Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem, has indicated that the TNA stadium, with a capacity of 12,000 seats, will open in November, just in time for Medeama’s fixture in the CAF Champions League group stage.
Medeama SC set history by qualifying for the coveted tournament’s group stage after overcoming Guinean heavyweights Horoya AC in the last qualifying round.
During a news conference held on Monday, Duker, who accompanied the squad to Conakry for their qualification, expressed his delight in the achievement of the club.
He eagerly delivered the news, stating, “We will also be commissioning our stadium by November ending, and we are using this platform to invite you to Tarkwa.” He went on to show his trust, declaring, “By the grace of God, we shall play our first group stage match in Tarkwa.”
With the group stage draw set for October 6, Medeama is looking forward to competing against some of the continent’s best teams. The stadium’s forthcoming commissioning represents a significant milestone for the club, enabling them with a cutting-edge venue to display their abilities and host international matches in the CAF Champions League.
