The former ambassador to the United Kingdom under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Hon. Victor Smith has said it’s very unfortunate and very bizarre how Ghanaians are very adamant to the harsh economic hardship they are going through but very quiet and reserved for the New Patriotic Party government under the President Nana Addo Dankwan Akufo-Addo.
He disclosed this on the Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor FM in Accra. He is of the view that, the president and the NPP laired to Ghanaians in their campaign messages and sweet promises to win the sympathy of Ghanaians to win power to loot the resources of this country at the expense of corruption.
Hon. Victor Smith reiterated that, Ghanaians should be reminded that, President Nana Addo said, if you want to make money then you must not work with his government, rather go into private sector to make money.
The reality we are all seeing shows that, most of the NPP ministers, are being caught up with a lot of alleged corruption cases. Looking at the state of the country now; there is so much hardship and poverty which have made Ghanaians demoralized and are ready to vote the NPP out of office.
He opined that, the government should not undermine the quietness of the citizen in the event of the alleged corruption and mismanagement going in the country with bad governance Ghanaians has experience for the past seven years under the NPP government.
On the same platform, a member of the national communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Ben Dow is of the view that, there is an institutional failure on the part of the ministry of works and housing and the district assemblies in respect to the flooding situation in the country.
He said common sense on a basic needs to protect our environment more especially in protect our ecology is lacking among Ghanaians. Our community responsibility to keep our gutters clean and discouraged illegal mining and other forms of building on the water ways must stopped.
He is of the view that, going forward there is a need for the district assemblies to enforced the by-laws in protecting the environment against this perennial floods affecting the country yearly raining season.
