Former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC ) Joshua Akamba has vowed to quit the NDC if the party fails to prosecute President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and all his corrupt appointees when they win the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s morning show ‘Ade Kye Mu Nsem‘, Mr. Akamba said “I have always said Akufo-Addo is an armed robber and I will continue to say it, the man is an armed robber and if the NDC wins the 2024 elections which I know we will win and fails to prosecute Akufo-Addo I will quit the party” he told Citizen Kofi Owusu.
Mr. Akamba urged the President to focus on Ghana and not too much on Niger as the current hardships Ghanaians are going through is killing people more than the coup in Niger.
“Has someone died in the Niger coup, No but people are dying in Ghana because of the hardships they’re going through, families are breaking up because of the mismanagement of the economy so you can’t tell me this is not more serious as the coup in Niger?” he said.
Reacting to the introduction of the 10% Gaming Tax, the former NDC National Organizer said the tax is a case study to prosecute the President because it is a robbery of the citizens.
Even though the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) is predicting GHC 400 million from the tax, Mr. Akamba compared Atta Ayi a famous notorious armed robber to President Akufo-Addo for the introduction of the tax.
“I always ask why Atta Ayi is in jail and Akufo-Addo is walking free, you see, the 10% Game tax is a clear robbery on the people who bet, you don’t buy data for the person and you will take your E-levy when they transfer money, you’ve not created any jobs for them but they’ve found a way to survive and you say you are taxing this, between you and Atta Ayi who’s supposed to be in jail?”. Mr. Akamba asked.
