Some NDC members of parliament led by the former minority leader Haruna Iddrisu have called on party members in the Asawase constituency of the Ashanti Region to sham rankle, divisiveness and actions that will affect the fortunes of the NDC in the 2024 general elections.
The NDC in the Asawase constituency before the party’s parliamentary election was split as some members rally behind a candidate to unseat the incumbent member of parliament Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed.
Following the incumbent’s victory, calls for unity among the factions have been intensified.
Speaking at a victory walk organized by the Asawase MP Muntaka, the members of parliament (MPs) for Tamale Central and North Mohammed Mutala and Alhassan Sunyani respectively called for unity among party members.
For his part, the former minority leader and the MP for Tamale south Haruna Iddrisu called on NDC members to work hard and give John Mahama not less than 1.5million votes from the Ashante region in the 2024 general elections.
