Former Hearts of Oak defender, Quaye has lamented the quality of players in the current squad.
His comments come following the club’s poor run of form in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
The Phobians are currently fourth on the standings with 28 points after eighteen rounds of matches.
Slavko Matic’s side has also been eliminated from the MTN FA Cup.
“The quality of the players is below standard. We excelled with Hearts of Oak because of self-training but the current players are lazy”. Dan Quaye noted.
“We used to train even on matchdays but now, they prefer to be on social media than to focus on their career. They will be on social media and get exhausted from games” he added.
Hearts of Oak‘s next match is against city rivals Great Olympics in the Ga Mantse derby on Sunday.
