WORLD BANK POISED TO ASSIST GHANA COME OUT FROM ITS DEBT

The World Bank Boss David Malpass has indicated that institution remains committed to assisting countries like Ghana come out from its rising debt challenge.

It follows concerns that covid-19 has worsen the debt situation for countries like Ghana who is at risk of high debt distress.

Speaking at a virtual press engagement of the IMF’s Annual World Bank Meetings in Washington DC, Mr Malpass says they have laid down some policy proposals to deal with the situation.

The IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva also said the current debt situation in Ghana and other African countries calls for some drastic actions.
