Aviation Analyst, Captain Michael Foli has rubbished the justification of the govt to procure a new jet for presidential travels.
The Defence Ministry has among other things listed challenges with refueling and maintenance as basis for which the country must procure a new jet.
Captain Foli said the arguments proffered by the govt adding that, other presidents using the same jet negates attempts to procure a new one.
North Tongu MP, Okudjeto Ablakwa had earlier on extracted from a 20-year-old Hansard of parliament a debate in which Nana Addo then an MP opposing the purchase of a presidential jet which according to the Hansard, purchasing the jet does not sit well with the sensitivity of the people.
This was when the need arose in the era of Prez Jerry Rawlings when a jet was needed.
