We Will Do Our Transfer the Arsenal way and storm the League – Communicator
The Communication Manager for Berekum Chelsea, Isaac Amponsah says they will not speak much about how they’re doing their transfers but rather will use Arsenal strategies they used to lure Thomas Partey at the eleventh hour that will shock everyone in Ghana football.
The 2011 Ghana Premier League champions have been on the quiet side of the transfer window with less than a month to commence the league and a section of the club’s fans are asking questions as to why they have not made any update on their transfer deals.
“We’re still talking to some clubs about players who can help us to achieve our target. We will do our transfer just as Arsenal did to Athletico Madrid where they thought Partey will not move only to accept a last minute offer to shock the football fraternity”
” For now, two players(Braimah Costa and Jonah Attuquaye) have already joined Legon Cities whiles the remaining players are in camp preparing for the season after their COVID-19 test”
Chelsea who are expecting an exciting season have made some technical changes, appointing former Hearts of Oak player and legend Michael Hesse Odamten as headcoach whiles Asare Bediako who was in charge during the anulled 2019-2020 season now double as an assistant coach and Technical Director according to Isaac Amponsah.
With the league set to start in November and clubs preparing their venues to be in good shape to be approved by the FA, the communicator believes they are working hard to put their house in order .
“The Club Licensing Board have inspected our venue but we were told to work on some areas before the league starts and we have promised to work on that immediately”
Amponsah believe newly appointed Brand Manager Juliet Bawuah will add something special to the team and elevate them to be attractive to the corporate world.
Before the covid19 pandemic, the Berekum based club shocked the league with wins in Kumasi against Asante Kotoko and Obuasi over AshantiGold but Amponsah thinks it will be difficult this season and no team is easy to walk over therefore they will take their matches seriously.
“Every team have lots of quality players so we’ll prepare very well to make sure we get our points from evey game when the season begins. This season will be more difficult compared to the previous years”
” We will not say some teams are easy to play, every team in the league will prove themself therefore we will also take them serious because there’s only three points in every match”
He finally opined that the supporters at the Golden City Park will support and see them through when the season starts.
Berekum Chelsea won the league in 2011 led by their talisman Emmanuel Clottey. The feat was the biggest achievement in the history of the club formed barely a decade ago and it came as no surprise because they led the league for much of the season.
The Berekum lads represented Ghana in the CAF Champions League and excelled, reaching the Group Stage of the competition as they rubbed shoulders with giants like Al Ahly, Zamalek and TP Mazembe in 2012.
