AshantiGold gets new sponsorship
Four times Ghana Premier League champions, AshantiGold Sporting Club, on Sunday, July 12, took to their social media handles to announce their new kit sponsor.
The Obuasi based club says it has signed a three year kit sponsorship agreement with UK manufacturing firm iGimel and will use their new kits for the 2020-2021 season replacing their old designer Pokoo.
Details of the contract are not known but, the CEO of the club Emmanuel Frimpong revealed last week that the club will pocket US$ 150,000.00 should they reach the semi-final of the CAF Confederations Cup and an additional US$ 200,000 should they reach the final.
AshantiGold will represent Ghana in the 2020-2021 CAF Confederation Cup and Asante Kotoko will feature in the Champions League. This follows the decision of the GFA to cancel the league season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
They both acquired their tickets having won the Tier 2 and Tier 1 of the Normalisation Committee’s special competition respectively which took place after the Anas expose.
