A member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) medical committee and former Ghana Football Association medical committee member, Dr Prince Pambo has reiterated that it’s a bit too premature to start football now.
“Every decision has its risk and football administrators have taken the risk; but should it backfire and a player contracts the virus and if possible dies, then there will be consequences.“
In an interview on Ahotor FM sports show on Ahotor Kwansu, the experienced medical doctor shared his thoughts. “Starting football now is simply choosing wealth over health, or choosing commerce over life.
Both the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) President, Gianni Infantino and FIFA medical chief Michel D’Hooghe know that any early resumption of football is simply improper.”
Dr Pambo is the first Ghanaian doctor on the CAF Medical Committee. He was in charge of medical duties at the African Nations Cup in Egypt last year, supervising Group E in Suez which comprised Tunisia, Mali, Angola and Mauritania.
According to Dr Pambo, although the Germans have advanced and sophisticated medical technologies and equipment and always want to be the first to do everything, watching the German Bundesliga last weekend was boring and uninteresting.

The German football league resumed last weekend after two months suspension due to the outbreak of the corona virus.
Last month, FIFA medical chief Michel D’Hooghe called for the cancellation of the 2019-2020 football season and a restart in August this year.
